Stat Attack 2016
« on: 27 Jan 2016, 09h28 »
Hi guys

New year, same old story. The Firm AFC announce themselves to Century City in fine style with 2 wins from 2, with the second being hard fought Firm-style football. Just how we like it.

MoM's for last night were Adam for game 1 and Brandon for game 2 - well done gents.

FORZA!!!

The Firm AFC go top of the table with an efficient if not masterful dispatching of One Force.

MoM was a pretty closely run thing, with 6 nominations in total, Brandon taking it in the end.

Another week, another win for the Firm. Aero24 were dispatched with ease. Let's face it though, they were pretty mince.

MoM goes to your truly for christening the new boots with 4 in the back of the net.

Still undefeated, still the best team of all time.

Stats updated to include the 2-1 win over Reeds. It was an uncharacteristically tight game, but in the end we snatched it with a minute to go.

Triple K was voted our MoM

The Firm left it late to claim all 3 points against the Good Hope FM Jox (really? with an "x"?). See attachments for the guy who snuck one in past Stirling last night. Unbelievable stuff.

The win leaves us 1 point behind Sacha's new boyfriend, the Mountain, and his Remy Boys, although we do have a game in hand. Next up a double header against Remy Boys and the Honeybadgers. I imagine they don't give a shit.

Forza!!!

That photo is atrocious.
Not often a guy looks even worse in a picture!

A mixed night for the Firm, as they first extended their unbeaten run to 7 games with a win against the Honeybadgers, then lost to a very good Remy Boys side.

6-3 in the first game which we pretty much controlled the whole way though. A decent side but no match for the Firm's structure.
3-5 in the second, where we lost our way a bit in the middle, then fought back toward the end. Remy Boys are very handy, but now that we've had a good look at them we will have a much better crack at them next time.

MoM goes to Sacha in the first game, then shared between Heed / Stirls in the second.

The Firm AFC round off their first regular season at Century City with a 2nd place finish and a spot in the final. An excellent start, although not surprising to anyone who has ever been involved in the Firm, or has been given the honour of basking in the radiant glow of the silky skills of greatest sports team of all time.

Last night's 3-1 win over Haven't got a Kalou wasn't pretty, but it did the trick. Brandon was voted MoM after his tubing-related injury layoff - good to have the energiser bunny back.

Final stats for season 1, including the final loss. It was a bitter way to end what was a very decent first season at Century City.

The step up to division 2 showed as that we won't have it all our way this season. It was certainly a game we could and should have won though.

MoM went to Jorge for excellent work at the back.

Wishing Adam a speedy recovery from his ankle knack.

Stats are updated to include both the demolition of Academy Juniors and the tough-as-ever loss to the cuntiest team on the planet.

MoM for the first game was shared between yours truly and Flo for an early front-runner for goal of the season.

MoM last night was hotly contested with a 3-way tie finally being broken and Brandon taking it in the end.

And guess what, we're still the best.

Stats updated to include our relatively comfortable 5-2 win over Mad Men.

MoM was shared between Flo and Manny, but I can't recall anyone having a bad game.

Stats updated to include our 5-0 gubbing on Super Sidekicks, who were anything but super.

MoM was unanimously Jorge who, on his birthday, picked up a goal and a clean sheet. They'll be celebrating all the way from Tijuana to Cancun.

Last night's 6-1 loss to the A Team really didn't reflect the performance or the balance of the game. On another night, a team we can certainly (fucking) have.

MoM was closely fought between Jorge & Manny, with France triumphant over Mexico in the end. Well done Manny, good game.

Last night's 5-4 win over FC Villagers was a game that we controlled nicely, somehow let slip and then in true Firm style grabbed at the death.

MoM was straightforward - Manny had a great game in any case, but scoring the winner with 0:02 on the clock is hard to argue with. That's 2 in 2 weeks for the young French raconteur.
